Typically, when we think about industries affected by weather, first thing that comes to mind is agriculture, but actually there are a lot of them: transportation, catering, tourism, retail etc. A relative newcomer to this list is the self-service industry that has been gaining popularity in the recent years. For some it might seem silly – how can you base your business decisions on a weather forecast? But in reality, you can – at least for some businesses.
Based on our customer wishes, we have added a support for weather data import in flex.bi, that is now available for Premium and Enterprise plan customers.
Now, you can analyze your business data in the context of:
- Weather forecasts for up to 10 days ahead
- Historical weather data
The available weather data includes the following: Humidity, Precipitation, Solar radiation, Cloud cover, Temperature, Windspeed. You can chose the weather factors relevant for you and use them to create measures and dimensions in flex.bi.

How to connect?
If you would like to add weather data to your flex.bi dashboards, please contact us and we will help you with the setup.
The connection is created using REST API and Custom fields – an advanced settings option that is available in flex.bi import applications.

How much does it cost?
Weather data import is available as a feature for the Premium plan on flex.bi Cloud and also for the flex.bi Enterprise server.
The additional cost is 75 EUR/Month + setup.
